Aphrodite's Dream Potion
4 cups apple juice
1 cup rose water (available in Middle Eastern specialty shops)(make your own by placing rose petals in a glass of water and letting it stand in the sunlight to infuse for several hours.)
6 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup honey
1 vanilla bean (I tablespoon of pure vanilla extract may be substituted)
1 piece of newly sprouting rhubarb (stalk and leaf) ( a stalk of baby celery from the inside of the bunch would be an appropriate substitute.)
Skyy Vodka
On the night of the full moon, cast your circle wide with your mind, to enclose your workplace and a space outside. Charge each of the ingredients with the power of Love as you place them in a pot with a lid. Gently simmer. After your potion is beginning to give off steam, put on the lid and lower the heat. You are creating a magickal mist within your pot. As the fragrance begins to fill your kitchen, continue to daydream about sensual romantic love.
After about one half hour, remove the lid, and stirring gently, repeat this chant 6 times:
Love I Am
Love I See
Love I Hear
Love I Feel
Love Surround Me
Love Fill Me
So Mote It Be
Continue stirring and chanting (6 times):
Into this Potion
Love is Given
Into this Potion
Love is Given
From this Potion
Love is Taken
So Mote It Be
Turn off the heat and allow the potion to cool. When cool enough to work with, pour the potion into an empty liter bottle (preferably glass with a tightly closing cap). Add the cinnamon sticks and vanilla bean. Discard the rhubarb by burying it in the earth and thanking the Goddess for its use. Fill the bottle to the top with vodka. (This will keep your potion from spoiling.) Now, go outside, with your uncapped bottle full of potion and your Athame. Raise the bottle towards the sky and call upon the powers of Aphrodite and Pan to infuse your potion with their potent magick. Dip the blade of your Athame into the potion to symbolize the commingling of these two powerful forces. Now, stand quietly and thank the Goddess and God for their presence and help. Close your circle.
Now, cap up your Potion and tuck it away (out of sunlight - this Potion is full of sensual Night energy!) until the next Full Moon.
This potion is meant to be added to a glass of wine or water....any amount from a few drops to a 1/4 cup. It should only be consumed by consenting adults....who BOTH know they are drinking an aphrodisiac.
I hope you enjoy the total experience of crafting this potion and trying it with your loved one. Viva Love!
Blessed Be
