You must rely on your magical intuition for this one. (Trust yourself!) Do some preliminary
research with a good herbal...one that let´s you know which plants are poisonous and not to be used in this potion. Tip: Herbs used in cooking can always be used and most are highly magical, provided you can get a fresh
organic supply.
Now, having scoped out where to find the herbs you want to use, you must wait for that PERFECT TIME OF HIGH MAGICK. I´m not talking about a time selected because its appropriate on
someone´s chart of magical correspondences. I´m talking about that moment when the flow of magic is so strong you can feel it in your bones. You are a Witch, aren´t you? You´ll know the right time. Witch´s Honor!
Okay, you know where to find the herbs and the time is right. Gather your herbs, being careful not to let any touch the ground. Sing to the faeries while you do your gathering. I use a wide variety...
sage, rosebuds, mugwort, lovage, lemon balm, mint, ripe raspberries, elder flowers.. you get the idea. Now, still singing (the faeries love it!) place all your herbs into a decanter and cover with vodka. Let this potion
sit undisturbed for at least 6 weeks. On a full moon, when magic is in the air, strain the potion. Bury the herbs in your garden, thanking the Goddess for their use. You may consecrate your potion in a magic circle,
asking for Faery Blessings on all who use it.
I transfer the potion into a recycled spray bottle and spritz it on whenever I need Faery Protection, Power or Enchantment in my life...which is usually
every day. With this in mind, make enough to last awhile. Besides, this makes a wonderful gift for all your magical friends.
Be Blessed! Love, Elderberry
