Kaylin's Prayer

Great Spirit, look upon us kindly today. Help guide us on our paths and show us the way of right thinking. Help us remain calm and loving in the face of this great adversity. Give us the knowledge that the nationality and the color of the skin of the perpetrators has nothing to do with the crime committed and that we do have  middle eastern Americans and they are as much American as those of European, Celtic, African, and Asian descent are. Let us continue to welcome them to this great country of ours.

We would ask that the other members of the world community look upon America for all the good we have done. We have repeatedly given very generously of our time and energy to other countries in need, often asking nothing in return. Let the world not forget the good we have done while they criticize us for the bad we do.

Help us all to find peace again. Calm the raging angers and soothe the fears that have been created in us by the bombings that have come to our shores. Let us be neither hawks nor doves, but let us be as the eagle, our national totem, majestic, swift, fair and regal, thinking before we strike, taking only what we need and continuing to soar.

Help us know that those who created this chaos in our country will receive the law of threes as promised. We are Witches, after all, and we know that everthing we do returns three times over. The best "punishment" we can ask for is that they get what they deserve, whatever that may be, and we trust in the Great Spirit to deal it out in the best possible way.

Heal our spirits and our minds. All members of our world community have received very deep wounds this week. When the world of one person is lessened, all our worlds get smaller. When one sister or brother is wounded, all of us are wounded. When our Mother Earth is scarred, all of us are scarred.

Give us healing in the different ways we need. Let peace be our goals and let freedom reign. And on a very personal note, let us remember that Witches could be persecuted again because we're of a different religion. Let freedon reign. So mote it be.
